Fall Activities to Enjoy Around Central Florida in 2026

by Blaine Wyker

Fall in Central Florida may not come with changing leaves and crisp temperatures, but that doesn't mean the season is short on things to do. September, October and November bring pumpkin patches, fall festivals, Halloween events, outdoor markets and family-friendly activities across the area. If you're looking for something to do this fall, here are some actual Central Florida events happening in 2026.

Spend a Day at a Local Pumpkin Patch

One of the easiest ways to get into the fall spirit is with a trip to a local farm. Great Scott Farms in Mount Dora is hosting its 2026 Fall Festival from September 26 through November 15, with the seasonal experience including a pumpkin patch, corn maze and other family activities. It's a good option for families looking to make an entire fall day out of the experience rather than simply stopping by for pumpkins.

For something closer to Seminole County, Sanlando Pumpkin Patch in Longwood offers a smaller, more local option with pumpkins, fall decorations and family photo opportunities.

Head to Winter Springs for Hometown Harvest

On Saturday, October 24, Central Winds Park in Winter Springs will host the 20th Annual Hometown Harvest from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. The city describes the event as a family-friendly fall festival featuring free hayrides, live music and activities for children.

For families looking for a traditional community fall festival without heading all the way into Orlando, this is one to put on the calendar.

Explore Fall at Lake Eola

If you're looking for something a little different than pumpkins and Halloween, Fall Fiesta in the Park returns to Lake Eola Park in downtown Orlando on November 7 and 8.

The two-day event will feature hundreds of artists, crafters and food vendors, along with live entertainment and family-friendly activities. It is also celebrating its 55th year, making it a longtime Central Florida fall tradition.

Pick Your Version of Halloween

Central Florida has no shortage of Halloween events, and 2026 is no exception. Families looking for a less-scary experience can check out Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom or SeaWorld's Halloween Spooktacular, both of which offer Halloween-themed entertainment geared toward families.

For adults and older teens looking for something much more intense, Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida, Howl-O-Scream Orlando and A Petrified Forest in Altamonte Springs offer very different versions of the Halloween experience.

Don't Overlook Local Community Events

Some of the best fall activities don't require a major attraction or a full day trip. Cities throughout Central Florida host their own fall festivals, markets, Halloween celebrations and outdoor events.

Sanford, for example, kicked off the season with its Rhythms of Autumn Festival at Centennial Park on September 27, featuring food, vendors and live entertainment. Sanford's official event calendar is also a good place to keep an eye on additional community events throughout October and November.

Make Fall a Reason to Get Outside

Central Florida's weather means fall is also a great time to spend more time outdoors. Instead of planning every weekend around a ticketed attraction, consider pairing one of these seasonal events with a walk, farmers market, picnic or afternoon exploring one of the area's parks and downtown districts.

The cooler months are also a good excuse to explore places you may normally drive past. A Saturday morning in Winter Park, an afternoon in Sanford or a day trip to Mount Dora can feel completely different when paired with a seasonal event.

Make the Most of Fall in Central Florida

Fall here may look different from what you see in other parts of the country, but Central Florida has created its own version of the season. Between pumpkin patches, community festivals, Halloween attractions, art festivals and outdoor events, there are plenty of ways to make September through November feel like fall.

Whether you're looking for a family day out, a neighborhood event or a full Halloween experience, 2026 has plenty on the calendar. And with events happening throughout Orlando, Winter Park, Sanford, Winter Springs, Longwood and surrounding communities, you don't necessarily have to travel far to find something worth doing.
